Friday. Deep breath. I unplugged this week and just played with my kids. I mean, I didn’t unplug completely…twitter and FB exempt here and there but I even left my phone behind and took my little monkeys out and about. We went to playgrounds, we painted, we bounced on the bed and we even braved Ikea. Twice. But after the horrible tornado in OK I just wanted to squeeze then close non stop. So I did. Once whilst I was getting my squeeze on The Boss he called out “Mama Mia! Mama Mia! Mama Mia let me go!” and I laughed so hard I am certain had I not had c-sections I might have wet myself. That kid! He kills me.
Slow down time!
He has graduated Preschool and next year will be in Pre-K and I suddenly feel like time is just moving faster and faster and faster… His school had a Circus theme this year and he proudly stood up and said his full name. It’s a good thing I was sitting down, because I would have swooned myself unconscious otherwise.
#1 So, it may or may not be common knowledge that I am a bit of a beauty product whore. Okay, it’s known. Listen, I am fighting time for all that it is worth! Last week I went to a book launch party at Denise Sharpe hair salon for some yummy wine and Lost In Suburbia (which I am halfway through and it is hilarious and all too relate-able) Anyway, Theraderm was there and they had a massive gift basket for a giveaway. When it came time for the drawing I assured everyone I wouldn’t tackle them and steal it, I wanted this skin care system THAT BAD that it had indeed crossed my mind. I never win ANYTHING, but I won!
It’s been a little over a week and I am loving it so far. You guys? My sun damage spot is lighter! It’s incredible. It’s a little pricey, $150 for the starter kit. Would I just drop that much on a starter? I’m not sure, but will I reorder? It’s highly likely. My favorite is the peptide moisturizer. I want to bathe in it. I did a little research and it take 4-12 weeks for peptides to really work, but the fine lines around my eyes are shall we say, finer? I’ll update on the progress in a few weeks, but so far so good.
#3 This picture of Huckleberry. I could stare at it all day. He turns two on the 4th and I feel like time is slipping right through my fingers. Everyday he is bigger and stronger and less a baby; more a kid. He points to the Beatles and says “Bee-ullz” and lest you wonder, he will walk up to you, eyes twinkling with glee and announce “I poo!” And he has.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy Memorial Day, we are heading to the Capitol for the concert on the grass. Here’s hoping it doesn’t get rained out. Again.
